Earthquake in Tokyo
Last night, there was a 7.5 earthquake in Japan. Luckily for Ian and I it was far enough away - I think it was a 3.something by the time it reached Tokyo. That said, it was definitely felt here in our hotel room on the 27th floor!
The whole building is on rollers and moved for a while! Then someone came on a loud speaker - in our room even - to say everything is OK, the building was built to withstand earthquakes and everyone is fine to stay in their room. Wild. Twice in Japanese and twice in English. The announcement was as jarring as the quake. It finished and Ian asked - where the hell is the speaker in the room?
What an adventure.
